Position: Aviation Technical Writer
Division: Air Safety Foundation
Full-Time

Summary:
JOB SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Manager of Safety Education Programs, this person writes and edits content for ASF safety education programs, including interactive online courses, quizzes, live safety seminars, video productions, and online and print publications.

-Writes, edits, and revises content for ASF safety education programs in a variety of formats.

-Delivers content on time while ensuring ASF's standards for technical accuracy are met.

- Develops creative and engaging ways to deliver educational content via multiple media.

-Creates ASF content for the AOPA Web site.

-Provides promotional content for ASF outreach efforts.

-Participates in the staff review process; provides and accepts constructive criticism.

-Conducts project management as needed (based on staff workload).

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree. Aviation-related major or minor a plus.

-2 to 4 years writing and/or editorial experience. Experience writing for the Web desired.

-FAA Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating. Flight Instructor Certificate preferred.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

-Strong interpersonal skills; willingness to work as a team player.
